Different Calls

Good afternoon to all! Another night of both owls here. Salt in the box and calling, Pepper in the box and calling. One thinks it's time, the other doesn't - then they switch that around. Come on Salt and Pepper, time to get coordinated already ♥

The evening started with a visit from Pepper at 7:23pm. Then we have Salt and Pep coming and going, even chased something. Salt mates with Pepper at 9:07, then at 9:22, Pepper goes in the box; (see video) proceeds to tidy the house and at 9:27 starts chirping sounds to Salt who is on front branch. Salt does not oblige and leaves at 10:24. Pepper stays in the box and waits - Salt returns at 11:20 (empty handed - no gift), but still proceeds to go in the box. Pepper is in position, Salt leans over, gets the 'okay' and mounts her. At 11:27 they seem to be 'arguing'; Salt finally leans over from the perch and preens her. 11:31 Pepper making weird noises, she pushes Salt off the perch and is now sitting on it. 11:45 they both leave the box and go to outside branches.

Later at 12:46am, Salt goes in the box, sits on perch and commences with self preening waiting for Pepper to return. At 1:49am Pepper on front branch (see video) Salt starts calling and stomping (remember happy feet?). This time Pepper is not in the mood, Salt gives up and comes out of box, sits on front branch. Pepper moves next to Salt and now she is begging...at 4:14am he mates with her.
They both leave at 6:48am ~ No owls in the box :(

When you watch the videos, listen to the different sounds they each make, I find it fascinating. Watching them so long now that I almost know what each is saying.

Just a reminder that school of course will be in session, since S&P are not staying yet; be prepared for times of no live stream or possibly late night streaming. I am sure Mark won't let us miss any important times. ♥♥
